Al\u00e9m da import\u00e2ncia ecol\u00f3gica, ele tamb\u00e9m tem um papel hist\u00f3rico, econ\u00f4mico e social para toda a regi\u00e3o. Atenta a essa relev\u00e2ncia, a Acelen realiza e apoia iniciativas de conserva\u00e7\u00e3o deste ecossistema, que ganham ainda mais destaque neste domingo (26), Dia Internacional para a Conserva\u00e7\u00e3o do Ecossistema de Manguezais. De 2023 at\u00e9 o momento, essas a\u00e7\u00f5es, somadas \u00e0 atua\u00e7\u00e3o da equipe de Meio Ambiente da Refinaria de Mataripe, resultaram em 8,4 mil mudas de mangue plantadas e 7,7 toneladas de res\u00edduos retirados dos manguezais.<\/p>\n<p>A nova edi\u00e7\u00e3o do projeto Recife das Pina\u00fanas \u2013 Movimento Replantio, que come\u00e7a neste m\u00eas de julho, combina atividades de educa\u00e7\u00e3o ambiental, limpeza de \u00e1reas degradadas e plantio de 1 mil mudas de mangue, envolvendo cerca de 200 crian\u00e7as e adolescentes de escolas p\u00fablicas, do 5\u00ba e 9\u00ba ano do ensino fundamental. A iniciativa, coordenada pela educadora ambiental Deusd\u00e9lia Andrade e realizada em parceria com a Acelen, procura conectar o aprendizado \u00e0 viv\u00eancia das comunidades, incentivando o senso de pertencimento e a valoriza\u00e7\u00e3o dos territ\u00f3rios tradicionais da Ba\u00eda de Todos-os-Santos.<\/p>\n<p>Al\u00e9m do plantio das mudas, a iniciativa prev\u00ea a capacita\u00e7\u00e3o de 12 monitores ambientais, a forma\u00e7\u00e3o de quatro turmas de estudantes, a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o de tr\u00eas palestras educativas e a produ\u00e7\u00e3o de v\u00eddeos documentais. Nesta edi\u00e7\u00e3o, o projeto acontece em Ilha de Mar\u00e9, em Salvador, Ilha do Paty, em S\u00e3o Francisco do Conde, e Ilha de Maria Guarda, em Madre de Deus. Em todas as edi\u00e7\u00f5es, 2,2 mil mudas de mangue foram plantadas e mais de 1,7 mil quilos de res\u00edduos foram retirados, contribuindo para a recupera\u00e7\u00e3o de \u00e1reas degradadas e para o fortalecimento do ecossistema na regi\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>O Mudas Para Mudar \u00e9 outra a\u00e7\u00e3o de conserva\u00e7\u00e3o que promove mutir\u00f5es de limpeza e plantio de mudas em comunidades pesqueiras de Candeias, S\u00e3o Francisco do Conde e Madre de Deus. O projeto integra o programa Acelera Pesca, realizado pela Acelen e conduzido pela AVSI Brasil, e conta com aulas de educa\u00e7\u00e3o ambiental e oficinas de mudas de mangue e t\u00e9cnicas de coleta de prop\u00e1gulos e sementes. Em 2025, pescadores, marisqueiras e moradores que participaram da iniciativa retiraram 3,5 mil quilos de res\u00edduos dos manguezais e plantaram outras 2,2 mil mudas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cParticipar do projeto Mudas Para Mudar foi uma experi\u00eancia muito importante para mim. Lembro das atividades de plantio das mudas e do aprendizado sobre a import\u00e2ncia dos manguezais para a natureza e para a nossa comunidade. Cuidar dos manguezais \u00e9 cuidar tamb\u00e9m da biodiversidade, da pesca, e do sustento de muitas fam\u00edlias. Senti orgulho de fazer parte de uma a\u00e7\u00e3o que ajuda a preservar o meio ambiente para as futuras gera\u00e7\u00f5es\u201d, disse Celiria Sales, de 61 anos, que \u00e9 coordenadora de atividades da Associa\u00e7\u00e3o de Pescadores e Marisqueiras do Suape (APEMAS), em Madre de Deus, e participou da \u00faltima edi\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>Tamb\u00e9m em Madre de Deus foi executado o projeto Pescadores e Mulheres Marisqueiras Descobrindo Talentos, que integrou o Edital Acelera OSC, realizado pela Acelen, em 2024. A iniciativa, conduzida pela Associa\u00e7\u00e3o dos Pescadores e Marisqueiras de Ca\u00e7\u00e3o (APMAC), promoveu a inclus\u00e3o produtiva e a transforma\u00e7\u00e3o social atrav\u00e9s de palestras de conserva\u00e7\u00e3o ambiental e oficinas de artesanato com esqueleto de crust\u00e1ceos. Al\u00e9m disso, foram realizadas 21 a\u00e7\u00f5es de plantio de mangue com o saldo total de 4 mil mudas plantadas.<\/p>\n<p>Para Ilka Danusa, gerente de Responsabilidade Social da Acelen, os n\u00fameros alcan\u00e7ados representam a mudan\u00e7a na vida das popula\u00e7\u00f5es da Ba\u00eda de Todos-os-Santos. \u201cOs manguezais desempenham um papel fundamental para a biodiversidade, para a pesca artesanal e para a qualidade de vida das comunidades costeiras, e a Acelen reconhece a import\u00e2ncia de atuar ativamente na sua conserva\u00e7\u00e3o e prote\u00e7\u00e3o. Saiba mais em\u00a0acelen.com.br.<\/p>\n<p>ENG<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Acelen Combines Conservation and Environmental Education to Protect the Mangroves of Ba\u00eda de Todos-os-Santos<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>Initiatives include planting 8,400 seedlings and removing 7.7 metric tons of waste from this ecosystem<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The mangrove complex in Ba\u00eda de Todos-os-Santos is one of the largest in the country, covering more than 10,000 hectares, according to the Atlas of Brazilian Mangroves. In addition to its ecological importance, it also plays a historical, economic, and social role for the entire region. Recognizing this value, Acelen carries out and supports conservation initiatives for this ecosystem, which will be highlighted even more this Sunday (the 26th), the International Day for the Conservation of Mangrove Ecosystems. From 2023 to date, these efforts, combined with the work of the Mataripe Refinery\u2019s Environmental team, have resulted in the planting of 8,400 mangrove seedlings and the removal of 7.7 metric tons of waste from the mangrove forests.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new edition of the Recife das Pina\u00fanas \u2013 Replanting Movement project, which begins this July, combines environmental education activities, cleanup of degraded areas, and the planting of 1,000 mangrove seedlings, involving approximately 200 children and teenagers from public schools in grades 5th to 9th. The initiative, coordinated by environmental educator Deusd\u00e9lia Andrade and carried out in partnership with Acelen, connects learning to the communities\u2019 lived experiences and fosters a sense of belonging and appreciation for the traditional areas of Ba\u00eda de Todos-os-Santos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to planting the seedlings, the project plans to train 12 environmental monitors, organize four student groups, hold three educational lectures, and produce documentary videos. In this edition, the project is taking place on Ilha de Mar\u00e9 in Salvador, Ilha do Paty in S\u00e3o Francisco do Conde, and Ilha de Maria Guarda in Madre de Deus. Across all editions, 2,200 mangrove seedlings have been planted and more than 1,700 kilograms of waste have been removed, contributing to the restoration of degraded areas and the strengthening of the region\u2019s ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mudas Para Mudar is another conservation initiative that organizes community cleanup efforts and seedling planting in fishing communities in Candeias, S\u00e3o Francisco do Conde, and Madre de Deus. The project is part of the Acelera Pesca program, implemented by Acelen and led by AVSI Brasil, and includes environmental education classes and workshops on mangrove seedlings and techniques for collecting propagules and seeds. In 2025, the participating fishermen, shellfish gatherers, and residents removed 3,500 kilograms of waste from the mangroves and planted another 2,200 seedlings.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cTaking part in the Mudas Para Mudar project was a very important experience for me. I remember the seedling-planting activities and learning about the importance of mangroves for nature and for our community. Caring for the mangroves also means caring for biodiversity, fisheries, and the livelihoods of many families. I felt proud to be part of an initiative that helps conserve the environment for future generations,\u201d said Celiria Sales, 61, who is the activities coordinator for the Suape Fishermen and Shellfish Gatherers Association (APEMAS) in Madre de Deus and participated in the latest edition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also in Madre de Deus, the Fishermen and Shellfish Gatherers Discovering Talents project was carried out as part of the Acelera OSC Call for Proposals, organized by Acelen in 2024. The initiative, led by the Ca\u00e7\u00e3o Fishermen and Shellfish Gatherers Association (APMAC), promoted productive inclusion and social transformation through lectures on environmental conservation and craft workshops using crustacean shells. In addition, 21 planting activities were carried out, totaling 4,000 mangrove seedlings.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For Ilka Danusa, Acelen\u2019s Social Responsibility Manager, the results reflect the change in the lives of the communities in Ba\u00eda de Todos-os-Santos. \u201cMangroves play a vital role in biodiversity, artisanal fishing, and the quality of life of coastal communities, and Acelen recognizes the importance of actively working toward their conservation and protection.
